It’s Vegas, Baby

Can't wait to see this Eiffel Tower!

Can’t wait to see this Eiffel Tower!

Got a very happy surprise yesterday:  a phone call from my friend who lives in Las Vegas.  We spoke for almost 2 hours and it was great catching up with her.  We met while we worked in St. Louis at General American Life Ins Co.  Betty was one of the gals who attended the Elvis concert that my friend Barb got the tickets for so long ago.  And happily for me, she has once again invited me to visit her in Vegas.  She invited me years ago, but I never made the trip.  I told her I’ll be coming in early 2014 just as soon as I save the rest of the plane fare.

She told me about all kinds of neat things to do besides gamble, which I don’t want to do.  Lake Mead and Hoover Dam are close to Vegas.  I can’t wait!  She even told me that the hotel/casino that looks like Paris even allows people up in their Eiffel Tower!

Wish I had the money to visit over New Year‘s because I just know Vegas will bring in a rockin’ New Year.   I’ll just have to wait until later, but it’s Vegas!

I can’t wait. Last time I checked the plane fare rates, the cost is almost $900 and a contractor for Delta is the only airlines that flies out of Dothan; so I’ll probably fly Delta if I can save up the money.

I know what you mean Pilbra. I’ve been trying to get to Vegas since 2003 and haven’t made it yet. At least my friend Betty keeps inviting me. If my eyes were better I think I would have driven there years ago, but such is life. 😉
