Flush It

I hear the glub glub of the toilet

and think about my life.

How I wish I could

just  flush away

the fear

and unrequited dreams

And watch the pain circle

and disappear

never to be seen again.

I hear the glub glub again

and smile.

  3. Love this poem. Goes directly to the heart of the matter. For me, there’s also a quality of an elegiac lament. You’re a beautiful poet. Thank you. Michele
