Ode To The Sun

Oh shining
ball of yellow
or is it orange today?

Where for art thou
because this blackness outside
my window
causes me much
trepidation
and hesitation.

For I must hurry
and trek out into the fray
lest my
resolve desert me
and inside
I will stay.

I like this poem. It’s a great twist on otherwise “happy, shiny” poems about the sun and warmth and all that.

    But …

    What happened to the haiku’s?

  2. sandrabranum says:

Today just didn’t seem like a haiku kind of day. So where are Your haikus?
