The Prick

The needle approaches

My eyes

and I wince

for I’m so tired

of what’s coming

I’ve lost count

how many times

I’ve done this

But the alternative

is far worse

So I steel myself


for the prick.

      Thanks Silver Poet. I began this blog to cope with my situation, and have found many friends and support because of it. Every time I feel like I can no longer cope, I think of that one person that I might help and trudge on…

      Thanks Legionwriter. I started this blog so long ago to cope with the fear and hopefully help others in the same predicament. My sister says I’m brave, but I don’t feel that way… The fear of losing my sight forces me onward…
