New Outlook/New Day

I decided to change my WordPress header image.  I had accidentally stumbled upon this header last year and instinctively disliked it.  Some of my friends commented on it and said they liked it, but I didn’t and couldn’t accept it.  In desperation I contacted the WordPress Gurus and asked them to change the image back to the beautiful orange ball ascending/descending on the horizon.

Reality has caused astute reflection and resignation, and I know it’s time to change.  For that reason I have chosen this new image that I still dislike, but at least now understand why.  You see it reminds me of my eye plight:  the shadowy images I must learn to live with.

I’m not telling you this because I want sympathy, but am sharing this in the hopes that it will help anyone understand should he be faced with the same problem.  Sometimes being chosen sucks…

Thanks for giving us an illustration of what things look like to you. It helps me understand better.

I think the reason I disliked this header so much when I first saw it is because subconsciously I knew it was my future. I can hear my mother saying: “I’m fortunate because I’m not ‘blacked out’ completely.” I’m trying to emulate her more, but it’s difficult.

  2. Sandra, I see an unending road, full of new opportunities lined with the most beautiful trees. I understand how you would see the shadows, but I’ll keep you in my prayers and hope you’ll be able to see that “just around the bend” there will be new light~Hugs to you, my friend~

I like your header and format. Looks OK. You know what they say about tellling a book from its cover. Well…

Thanks Bumbas. Once I accepted that my eyes would not get any better, I decided to “toughen up” and give my readers a better idea of what’s happening to my vision. The shadows are pretty appropriate, but there would actually be more grey if I were just using my right eye. Thanks for stopping by…

Thanks and all the best. Keep writing
