What do Nathan Fillion, “Weird” Al Yankovic, Simon Pegg, Chris Hardwick and millions of people have in common? They’re NERDS!
Once upon a time “nerds” were uncool, and except for the Revenge of the Nerds movies no one even considered them. Then along came nerd icons like the late great Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg and voila suddenly people want to be nerds. Nerds are cool (and some are rich!) Who knew that being cool would equate to the “N” Factor. Makes me want to be a nerd; how about you?
Nerd is cool ;)…I agree
Thank you. Now I must ask, do you think Elvis was a nerd? By today’s standards, I say yes.
I think most nerds prefer to be called geeks. And many of them do make lots of money.
I think most people think of geeks as being computer geniuses (thanks to The Geek Squad,) but I have a feeling that the term nerd might be coming back thanks to programs like “The Nerdist” that I saw Christmas night on BBC America.
