Do I Go? Do I Stay?

Do I go?  Do I stay?  Does it matter anyway?

I began writing that poem over 2 weeks ago.  It’s still not finished, but it resonates more everyday as I debate whether I should or shouldn’t attend Belleville IL’s first ever film festival!

My sister thinks I should visit my cousin in Jacksonville, FL because it is closer and a much safer drive for me (she feels).  Of couse she doesn’t realize that I don’t know the route to Jacksonville, FL or where to go once I arrive.  But… I DO know the route to Belleville, IL — I’ve driven it enough times — and know exactly where I’ll be going once I get there.

I can understand her concern.  Actually I’m concerned myself because I’ll be driving alone.  (Wish I could take my dog with me, but can’t.)

Anyway, here I sit pondering — worrying maybe — if I should attend or not.  The festival is September 30; so I’ll be deciding by this Wednesday.

To paraphrase the campy ’60’s “Batman” narrator: Tune in tomorrow.  Same … time.  Same … channel!

  2. “The Leaves are Changing” is such a beautiful haiku. It resonates fall in a nutshell. I hope to read more of your beautiful poetry in the future.
