Let There Be Light

Somebody please declare the exact time when “dusk” is!  Tonight while driving into Headland, AL to practice with my fellow thespians for our local theater production, I saw quite a few cars without headlights on.

Now this might not seem very dangerous to someone reading this, but let me state for the record that headlights are not turned on at dusk for the vehicle drivers, but for the ON COMING drivers!

As Sophia from The Golden Girls might say:  “Picture this… You’re driving along a country road.  It’s dusk.  Suddenly a car seems to “jump” out at you from a bend in the road…”

That sounds pretty uneventful,  right?  But, what if you were passing another car on this winding country road, and suddenly you’re facing a dark car with no headlights on… coming right at you!

Please remember to turn on your headlights at dusk… for the other driver.  The life you save could be your own.
