Halloween/Life Entries

I’ve been writing haikus since I posted one onto another wordpress site last week.  You should try it because it’s great to learn new things — and the beauty of this is:  No one has to see them unless you want them seen.  Here for your enjoyment (don’t laugh too loud) are 2 haikus from yours truly.

Deathly night silence

Disrutpted by the screaming.

Will we all be safe?

Welcome light ahead

Guiding my way through the dark.

Praise be, I am free!

Try it — it’s a good way to exercise your brain, and you might even enjoy it.

I’ve learned something from your blog today. I did not even know what a haiku was until now. Did I spell that right? OK, well, I’m still not exactly sure what constitutes a haiku but will heed your advice and try it myself.

The first line has 5 sounds – not necessarily syllables. The second line has 7 sounds. And the last line has 5 again.

Did you see the email I sent re: the haiku for our writer’s blog?
